Tangled Up!

A couple of weeks ago my brother asked my mom and I if we would be interested in making a Tangled backdrop for my niece's 6th birthday party. He wanted something that could run from the second story window all the way down to the ground. We both loved the idea even though I personally, had never worked on such a large scaled canvas before. It took us about 5 days  to complete, from sewing the fabric to adding the brackets. I have to say, I absolutely LOVED this craft project! We have very different artistic styles but My mom and I worked so well together and created a very Disney backdrop for Ella's big day.

If you are interested in a custom hand painted backdrop for your child's big day, photo booths, or any event you can contact me at mandylopandy@gmail.com.
At the moment, we are offering 8ft x 10ft or smaller.

Original Artwork on Etsy!

My Art & Handmade Shop is officially up! Fiiinnaaallly :D I only have a couple of small paintings for sale but I am trying my hand at handmade clay rings & necklaces! Its so much fun to work with and a nice break from painting. Since I am trying to make a business out of my creativity, I thought it would be a smart idea to try new mediums in order to stay inspired. So check out my shop and add it to your favorites ;) I will be adding new items each week! Oh, and don't forget to visit my Vintage Shop, I will be having a sale this month on select (older store) items.

Update!

Yikes! I haven't updated in a couple of weeks but there has been a lot going on :) I got ENGAGED last week XD <3 Yaaaaay! Feel free to read all about it in Bradens blog: The Proposal.

Not only did he plan the most perfect day I could have imagined but he picked out on his own the most beautiful antique styled ring.  I have been on cloud nine ever since so my blogging and online shop has been on hold but I'm back! I have many new items to add to my Etsy site so be sure to check back soon.  O_O

NEW!
A couple of illustrations from my art collection are now available online at Society6. I literally created this page yesterday so I have plenty of more illustrations to upload. This site is absolutely amazing and very helpful for artists who are trying to build a business. I am still planning on setting up an Etsy shop for my art and handmade goodies, which will offer originals and prints. Society6 is great for selling prints though, they offer canvas prints, shirts & hoodies, framed prints and much more so be sure to check it out there are some amazing artists on the site!

Lastly, the art festival ( ArtGoggles) I was hoping to be in is actually going on right now and do to the circumstances I wasn't ready, BOO :( but at least I am able to sell online for now. They will be having another one in Spring so I have that to look forward too.

Hanging Lamp Shade #2

 Total cost -- $3.00
For the second lamp shade I used old maps I bought at the thrift store. I also decided to use a glue gun since the outside of lamp shade was made from recycled paper.

Hanging Lamp Shade #1

I cut out "O" shaped pieces for this lamp.

Upcycle An Old Painting.

Turn a thrift store painting into a personalized piece of art!
I found this painting (with frame) for only $7.99 at the local
thrift mart :) The edges are a little rough on the finished project
but that's my fault for buying an original. (O_o;)

Tip: Water down the paint to give it more of an antique
look. Also, be sure to dab on the paint not brush over the letters.
